His wealth of experience makes him the right person to lead the implementation of our agile engineering model globally."

He adds, "Rakesh comes to us having recently successfully led the engineering team that developed Amazon delivery, one of the most significant revenue generating businesses for a global technology and retail leader. His experience and talent will be a huge boon to Publicis.Sapient clients and to the growth of our retail industry expertise and large-scale India operations.".

Commenting on his appointment, Doddapaneni, says in a press release, "As someone who is passionate about engineering and running large software systems, I am excited to return to Sapient, which continues to lead the way as a digital transformation company that uniquely combines strategy, experience and engineering disciplines to help clients reimagine and transform their businesses for a digital age. Building a company that has, develops and attracts world-class engineering talent is what has brought me back to Sapient."

Commenting on his appointment, Ravuri, says in a press release, "The industry is at an inflection point and technology has moved from support role to the driver's seat. Sapient is right at the centre of this, with its focus on digital business transformation. I am excited to have a chance to play a leading role in the engineering transformation both for Sapient and its clients."

G.K. Devarajulu The textile city Architect of Coimbatore

The brothers who contributed substantially to the industrialisation of Coimbatore are G.K. Devarajulu and G.K. Sundaram.

The sons of cotton merchant G.Kuppusamy Naidu, who also had a ginning unit, both evinced immense capability.

Devarajulu, born in 1911, was a man with appetite for risks.

He set up the Lakshmi Mills at the age of just 21. As the machinery for the cotton units were imported from Europe under the impression that those from Japan were substandard, Devarajulu visited the factory in Japan to study whether the machinery would suit Indian requirements.

Consequently all the machinery for his unit were imported from Japan. He also introduced the administrative system he found good in Japanese units.

When Devarajulu and Mr. Sundaram joined Textool as shareholders in 1940, the company produced its first ring frame.

Devarajulu joined hands with R.Venkataswamy Naidu of Peelamedu to set up the South India Viscose for which he imported machinery from Italy. While he got the license in 1957, he started the production in 1962 using a new technology.

As sweet are the uses of adversity, Devarajulu was not overawed by the stringent measures taken by the Central Government to conserve the precious foreign exchange in 1960 which had virtually crippled import of machinery for cotton mills.

This goaded him on to establishing a unit that could produce all the machinery needed for cotton mills. This Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW), which came into being with the technological support from a Swiss company in 1966, had a phenomenal impact on the industrial as well social horizon of Coimbatore.

In 1977, the unit started manufacturing a new cording machine and Devarajulu then pointed out that LMW was one among the six units in the world that could manufacture all the machinery required for cotton mills.

The company further grew adding Lakshmi Automatic Looms, Lakshmi Ring Travellers and LMW Unit 2.

He became the president of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well. Besides, he headed a number of associations including the Southern India Mills Association, South India Textile Research Association and Indian Cotton Mills Association. He passed away in 1992.

He started the G.Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital to serve the people of Coimbatore to fulfill his father’s dream. Today all his efforts have paid off and have also inspired many entrepreneurs in Coimbatore.

He also played a pivotal role in setting up of Mani Higher Secondary School, G.Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti, and the Kuppuswamy Naidu Sports Trust. To honor his contribution to business and society, he was knighted as ‘Cavalier Devarajulu’ by the Consulate General of Italy in India.

The Pappanaikenpalayam ‘GKD Electrical Crematorium’, run by the GKD Charity Trust was the first of such. It is built on an acre of land given to GKD Charity Trust by the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation at Pappanaikenpalayam.

Lakshminaickenpalayam Ramaswamy Govindasamy Naidu ( 1894 - 1970 ) was born as the fourth child to Ramaswamy Naidu and Chinnasamy Ammal on the 7 th of January 1894. L.R.Govindasamy Naidu was popularly known as LRG Naidu and he was an entrepreneur with a vision which encompassed several aspects of commerce and social life. He was closely associated with the Industrial Scientist GD Naidu from his early days. LRG Naidu married Ranganayaki Ammal and couple made Tirupur their home from the year 1924. The couple was blessed with four dynamic sons and a daughter Vijayalakshmi who was married to V.N.Ramachandran of Premier Mills.  It was from Tirupur that he grew from good to great and he ensured that his enterprises and policies were built to last. His Vijayalakshmi Motor Service,City Mofussil Transports and Tirupur Karur Transports were headquartered at Tirupur and the other bus company Madura Public Conveyance from his stable had 40 buses and the operations where centered around Dindigul. L.G.Balakrishnan & Brothers of Karur had another 50 buses in its flock. The vibrant LRG Naidu started a transport service , Rayalaseema Passenger and Goods Transport with a fleet of 150 buses at Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh. In addition he had purchased about 2500 acres of land at Rayalaseema and all of it were donated to the Sri Ramaswamy Naidu Vidyalayam ( June 1946 ) founded by him at Lakshminaickenpalayam in the sacred memory of his father.

The English skills of LRG Naidu were confined to the level of just knowing the alphabets but his determination ensured that he was able to understand what ever was required in the legal context and he was capable of correcting any document effortlessly. Those were the times when transport facilities were the need of the hour and if not for businessmen like LRG Naidu the business of transporting people and goods would not have reached the levels required for a growing population. At the time of the Second World War he had a fleet of 300 buses and it used to be an uphill task to run the buses for fuel was not available . Therefore the buses had to be equipped with charcoal gas plants and spare parts were another rarity too. LRG Naidu made all the charcoal gas plants in his facility at Tirupur. In addition to the transport business LRG Naidu created a new venture - L.G.Balakrishnan & Brothers Limited which began to involve itself in bus body building and manufacture of chains at Karur and Coimbatore. Another company ELGI Equipments Limited came up at Coimbatore and the family took up a number of allied and auxiliary businesses post nationalisation of their bus business in Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. Therefore their family came up with ELGI Tyre & Tread Ltd ( ELGI Tread now ), Super Spinning Mills Ltd and also ELGI Electric & Industries Ltd over the years.

LRG Naidu was a man of enterprise and was into the business of cinema for some time. He belonged to rare tribe of entrepreneurs who were capable of handling diversified activities simultaneously and fortunately Coimbatore was blessed with more people like him. He was quick to understand that he had to be in areas with least Government interference and he came up with an airline company and called it Madras Presidency Airways over 60 years ago and it was a public limited company ! The adventurous spirit of LRG Naidu knew no bounds and the family got into the hospitality business through their revolutionary venture Ashoka Hotels at Chennai. The hotel was a popular destination for travellers for a number of years. In spite of being a busy entrepreneur LRG Naidu never forgot the core activity of our country - agriculture. He was a forerunner in the cultivation of seedless grapes and guava. The industrialist agriculturist entrepreneur believed that one had to spend 20 years in trying to learn in every which way which included experience and another 30 years by trying to learn and earn while willing to spend the rest of one's life for charity.

The first social and charitable venture of LRG Naidu was the Sri Ramaswamy Naidu Vidyalayam at his native village Lakshminaickenpalayam and it had a hostel for students while providing quarters for the staff even before independence. He was an early pioneer who provided noon meals for the kids who came from nearby villages and admitted people from all communities and castes into the school hostel. He even gave land to the Government for establishing a Dalit Hostel. Later on His Excellency the Maharaja of Bhavnagar who happened to be the officiating Governor - Maharaja Raol Shri Sir Krishna Kumarsinhji Bhavsinhji KCSI and the Collector of Coimbatore FWA Morris who was popularly known as Morris Gounder visited the school and participated in a number of activities. Several years later , the noble Acharya Vinobha Bhave visited the school. In order to make the school self-sustaining he established the LRG Naidu Education Trust by the year 1965 and at his Karmabhoomi Tirupur he came up with the Chinnasamy Ammal Middle School in the sacred memory of his mother and the institution came to be managed by the Tirupur Municipality. Another 30 acres were donated to for the LRG Government College for Women at Tirupur and all his four sons contributed towards the construction of the required buildings. One more charity was made in the name of his beloved wife - LRG Ranganayaki Ammal Maternity Centre. All his ancestral lands measuring about 100 acres and his house at Tirupur with about 8 acres of land and buildings were made over to the LRG Educational Trust. The life of LRG Naidu is sure worth emulating.

The equally successful and charitable sons of LRG Naidu - L.G.Balakrishnan, L.G.Varadarajulu, L.G.Ramamurthy and L.G.Nityanand have been the forerunners of Corporate Governance at Coimbatore and have given away a lot for charitable purposes. They have built schools, colleges and wards at hospitals over the years. The dawn of the Vijayanagar Empire in the year 1336 ushered in a lot of migrations all over the south. A large number of Telugu and Kannada speaking people migrated to the Tamil speaking parts of the country. The black cotton soil farmers of Andhra Pradesh moved over to the black cotton soil regions of Tamilnadu along with their seeds. This added to the seed diversity of the region in a big way. The Rasakondalar clan from Andhra had migrated to the Coimbatore and made it their home for ever. The clan has been ensconced in Pappanaickenpalayam for a few centuries.

Periya Govindaswamy Naidu of the Rasakondalar clan was born in the year 1858 at Coimbatore. He was known to be a content person who accommodated his siblings well. In fact when the properties of his family were partitioned he took ones the discarded by his brothers. He was a peoples' person and took a keen interest in the affairs of his neighborhood all his life. Periya Govindaswamy Naidu participated in the joys and sorrows of the people who lived in Pappanaickenpalayam. His humanitarian approach made him an endearing person in his village.

Periya Govindaswamy Naidu attended each and every wedding in Pappanaickenpalayam. He was given the honour of garlanding the bridegrooms of his village at the time of the wedding. His fair complexion and well-built personality were further enriched by his massive head and bushy moustache. He had a full attire for both the bride and groom with him. It consisted of a dark coloured alpaca coat, an embroidered dhoti, an angavasthram and a turban for the groom. He had a complete set of jewellery for the brides to wear at the time of the wedding and also a fine white horse with brown spots for the grooms as part of his possessions. The horse was trained to behave in a calm and composed manner during while transporting the bridegroom who rode on it to the bride's place to take the hand of the obliging lady.

Medical relief work was carried out by Periya Govindaswamy Naidu in full gusto. He had a working knowledge of native medicine and he used to offer remedies for the poor. He had medicines for eczema and cure from poisons with him at all times. This was prepared by him at the time of Solar Eclipses and the activity was accompanied by prayer. His home was a dispensary for the locals. The roofs of the houses were made of tiles and they harbored snakes, scorpions, rats and lizards of all kinds. Rats used to drop from the ceilings of houses, spin around and stop dead at the times of plague. The homemakers used to pour kerosene on the rat, burn it and apply kerosene on the limbs for safety. Plagues were common then due to lack of hygiene and it broke out once in the year 1903. The local Government ordered the people to quit with the aid of a ' Dandora '. Periya Govindaswamy Naidu was against this evacuation for he felt that would cause a greater danger for want of proper sanitation in the new place. He asked people to pretend as though they had left the places by living silently. Naidu used to attend on the afflicted day and night. He took the help of two native doctors - Sodalamuthu and Bhashyakarulu to take care of the task of attending to the medical needs of the sick. A Dalit assistant was his other aide in this regard. He was fined a sum of Rs.50 for not complying with Government orders. The fine was paid with a smile. The people of Coimbatore used to move out on pilgrimages during plague. They had get a ' passport ' in order to leave Coimbatore and had to register themselves with the authorities in the place of arrival. Authorities used to pay the people in order to get them vaccinated. The spotted white horse used to take Periya Govindaswamy Naidu from one place to the other. He believed that his prosperity and happiness in life were because of the horse. The horse passed away in the year 1916 and Naidu told his friends that he would not live long. He passed away in the same year.

Periya Govindaswamy was blessed with the birth of a son Kuppuswamy in the year 1884. The son founded the Lakshmi Mills Company in the year 1910 and became a legend in his lifetime. Periya Govindaswamy Naidu had married Ammaniammal alias Eantammal, the sister of the R.Bhima Naidu in the year 1880 and this played a very vital role in the life of the son Kuppuswamy later on. Ammaniammal alias Eantammal who happened to be the mother of Kuppuswamy Naidu hailed from an illustrious family of Uppilipalayam. On growing up to be a young lad, Kuppuswamy Naidu wanted to take over the family lands from the tenants and cultivate them himself. However Periya Govindaswamy Naidu was not agreeable to send the tenants out. He told his son that the tenants were poor people and had enjoyed a long connection with him. The son was also told that if the poor tenants were sent away, they would economically find it difficult to earn their meals. Therefore he told his son Kuppuswamy that he could cultivate on the lands vacated by the tenants voluntarily for he did not want to forcibly break the association with them. Young Kuppuswamy decided to venture into the world of commerce thereafter. The keen father Periya Govindaswamy got his son Kuppuswamy married to Lakshmii Ammal, the daughter of Periya Veedu Ramaswamy Naidu of Vaiyampalayam who belonged to a prominent family. G.Kuppuswamy Naidu and his wife Lakshmi Ammal were blessed with the famous B.R.Ranganayaki Ammal ( wife of B.Rangaswamy Naidu of Rajalakshmi Mills ), G.K.Devarajulu ( Founder Lakshmi Machine Works and South India Viscose ), G.K.Sundaram ( Former Member of Parliament and Chairman - Lakshmi Mills ), G.K.Govindaswamy ( who went along with a number of Coimbatoreans around the world in the year 1949) and G.K.Rajagopal (who dedicated a lot of his time and energy to put Coimbatore on the golfing map of the country). G.Venkataswamy Naidu was the second son of Periya Govindaswamy Naidu.

The religious minded Periya Govindaswamy Naidu took a keen interest in the religious life of people around him. He built a choultry at the self manifested or Swayambhu Venkatesa Perumal Temple at Mondipalayam and arranged for the feeding of the poor in a large scale on the third Saturday of the Tamil month of Purattasi every year. He built and maintained a Vinayakar and Mariamman Temple at Pappanaickenpalayam in co operation with the members of his family. Periya Govindaswamy Naidu played an important role in the annual Mariamman festival and he was responsible for the establishment of the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple along with the members of his family at Pappanaickenpalayam. The temple of Lord Srinivasa Perumal has become a great place of pilgrimage in Coimbatore.

The life of Periya Govindaswamy Naidu throws much light of the positive attitude and the living conditions of the people of Coimbatore over a hundred years ago.

Born in a middle-class farmer's family in Jonnavada village, Kondapalli Seetharamaiah was attracted to the Communist movement early in life. He became the secretary of Krishna district unit of the united Communist Party, which played a crucial role in Telangana Armed Struggle. Following a split in the Communist Party of India (CPI), he could not join either group and moved away from politics.

He went to Warangal to work as a Hindi teacher in Fatima School where he came in contact with K.G.Satyamurthi. Both of them were attracted to the CPI (ML) and attended the party conclave held at Gottikondabillam in Guntur district which was addressed by Charu Majumdar. He became a state committee member of the CPI (ML) and associated himself with the Srikakulam movement. On April 22, 1980, he founded the People's War Group. Believing in Mao's dictum 'power flows from the barrel of a gun', the PWG launched an armed struggle against 'class enemies'.

The PWG gained in strength by mid-1980s and recruited many young people across the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

He was arrested in the Secunderabad Conspiracy case. After killing the duty constable he escaped from the hospital where he was admitted for treatment in 1982 causing a sensation. He led the PWG for several years when it reigned terror in Andhra Pradesh and some neighbor states. In the early 1990s, there was a split in the PWG and Seetharamaiah was ousted by Muppala Laxmana Rao.

After the state government imposed a ban on the PWG on May 21, 1992, Kondapalli Seetharamaiah was arrested by the police in 1993.

The courts have acquitted him in all the cases filed against him by the police. He was released on humanitarian grounds after spending a few years in jail.

During his final years, he abstained from political activities. He suffered from Parkinson's disease. Kondapalli Seetharamaiah died in his granddaughter's house in Vijayawada on 12 April 2002. He was 87 years old. He was survived by his wife Koteswaramma and two granddaughters, V. Anuradha and K. Sudha.

Padma Bhushan Moturi Satyanarayana (Freedom fighter - MP)

Moturi Satyanarayana (2 February 1902 – 6 March 1995) was an Indian freedom fighter alongside Mohandas Gandhi until 1947 and then a member of the Constituent Assembly of India which drafted the Indian Constitution. He was a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha (the Upper House in the Indian government) until 1966. He was instrumental in making Hindi an official language in the Indian Constitution, while tolerating the other major Indian languages. He devoted his later life to helping spread Hindi in South India.

Moturi was born in Dondapadu village in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India. After his primary education, he studied English, Telugu, and Hindi at the National College in Machilipatnam, achieving a high proficiency in them. He joined the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha as a volunteer and gradually became the Secretary and Principal Secretary of that organisation. A major mission in his life would be to efficiently promote the growth of Hindi in South India between 1936 and 1961. He married Shrimati Suryakanta Devi and had three sons and four daughters with her.

Moturi participated in Quit India Movement in 1942 and was jailed. During this time, Moturi was an active promoter of the Hindi language. He was the Editor of "Hindi Pracharak" (1926–36), "Hindi Prachar Samachar" (1938–61) and Dakshina Bharat (1947–61). He organised many Institutions all over India such as "Dakshina Bharata Hindi Prachara Sabha" of Madras (1926–61). He was the Founding Secretary of "Telugu Basha Samithi" of Madras and Hyderabad.

After India became independent from Britain, Moturi was a member of the Constituent Assembly of India from 1948–50. He served as a Member of the Drafting Committee of the Indian Constitution for its Language Section. He was a key figure in the divisive debates on: what to make the official language of India (Hindi, English, or a number of local languages such as Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, etc.); how to set up a pluralistic civil service examination system; and how to balance local languages with national languages at different levels of government. He advocated for drafting of the Constitution in Indian languages first.

After Indian Independence, from 1950–52, Moturi was a member of the Provisional Parliament of India as an MP. After the Indian Constitution was drafted, Moturi was nominated by the President of India as a Rajya Sabha (Upper House) member. He served twice between 1954 and 1966 (3 April 1954 to 2 April 1960 and 3 April 1960 to 2 April 1966). He was also a member of: the Madras Legislative Council (1952–54); the Central Advisory Board of Education of the Govt. of India; the Madras University Senate (1952–53); the Central Official Languages Commission (1954–56).

Moturi had many scholarly interests. He was the Chief Editor of Encyclopedia on Social Sciences in Hindi published by the Hindi Vikas Samithi, Madras. He was the founding secretary of the Telugu Bhasha Samiti. He also founded the Hindi Vikas Samiti and published 'Vishwa Vignana Samhita.' Finally, Moturi was an editor for a comprehensive encyclopedia published in his native language of Telugu.

Later in his life, Moturi won many awards. He was a recipient of the Padma Shri award in 1954 and the Padma Bhushan award in 1962, both from the Government of India. Andhra University honoured him with its Kala Prapoorna award in 1977.

Moturi lived to the age of 93. When a family member asked the nonagenarian Moturi about the secret of his longevity, his brief response was: "Listen more, eat less."

As an activist for Indian Independence, a framer of the Indian Constitution, and a Parliamentarian, Moturi was a key figure in India's political history. However, some people crit    icise his decision to support Hindi, and not English, as the official language of India. The awkward provisions in the Indian Constitution and a later push by pro-Hindi hardliners led to "language riots" in the 1960s in southern states such as Tamil Nadu, where more than 60 people died. Several students immolated themselves protesting the forced use of Hindi as the national language. While English has become the de facto national language of India by 2010, the Indian Constitution has continued to serve as the fundamental basis of the India's polity and society and its drafting was a major accomplishment.

Grinding the way to success! P.B.Krishnamurthy, Founder of Sri Lakshmi Grinders.

P.B.Krishnamurthy was the son of Balasundaram and Sri Lakshmi who was born in Bhavani sagar. Due to the inundation caused by construction of the Bhavani sagar dam, his family relocated to the city of Coimbatore.

P.B.Krishnamurthy was the son of Balasundaram and Sri Lakshmi who was born in Bhavani sagar. Due to the inundation caused by construction of the Bhavani sagar dam, his family relocated to the city of Coimbatore.

A young Krishnamurthy pursued his schooling at the City Municipal High School and had to quit due to financial constraints. Hence, Krishnamurthy joined the commercial tax office and worked there for about 3 months. It was at that time, an aspiration to step foot in the world of commerce got seeded in Krishnamurthy who shortly set up a provision store at the buzzing Poo Market area. He was then engaged full-time in managing his shop "Swami & Murthy" along with his cousin brother Karuppuswamy.

Though life went on smooth, Krishnamurthy's interest in 'engineering' kindled him to do something innovative in that domain.

K.Ravi, son of P.B.Krishnamurthy talks about the break through journey in his father's life, while offering some hot filter coffee at his office in Hotel Karpagam in Ram Nagar.

"It all started in the year 1963, when my father was inspired to make a wet grinder for his friend whose wife was unable to make idly batter due to severe back pain. The whole idea was conceived by my father whose grinders then came with a huge grinding stone which constantly moved on all sides to make a smooth idly batter. People looked up to the product with awe.

The product was very unique and he sold the first piece for Rs.540, with a profit of Rs.120/- a princely sum those days!. Just after the sale, my father was very anxious to know the feedback from the lady to whom he sold his first piece. Though the lady of the house was extremely happy and relieved, the noise made by the motor was of a great concern to her.

The rest is history...my father, P.B.Krishnamurthy became the first to commercialise the wet grinder. Of course, after several attempts of fine tuning, at last he created the perfect grinder which was used in every single household".

Sri Lakshmi Wet Grinders hit the road to success with a number of hotels becoming their early clients. A number of VIP households including that of LMW, P.A.Raju Chettiar, K.Damodaraswamy Naidu of Sree Annapoorna Hotels and N.Mahalingam became the customers of Krishnamurthy.

All the grinders belonging to the restaurant chain, Sree Annapoorna Hotels were supplied and serviced by him. In fact, he made a slow functioning grinders especially to K.Damodaraswamy Naidu, who felt that the motor heat would make idlis harder and alter the consistency.

Initially Lakshmi Grinders used motors from Suguna Motors, until Balaji Motors promoted by Gopal got into a long association with P.B.Krishnamurthy, Founder of Lakshmi Grinders.

The famous industrial scientist G.D.Naidu used to visit Krishnamurthy during the early days and offer words of encouragement.

Sivakumar of Suguna Automobiles shares some nostalgic memories about the first motor he designed for Lakshmi Grinders, "We purchased a Lakshmi grinder in the year 1968. One of my tenant Irudayaswamy used our grinder once a week for making idly batter for his family. We are one of the age old customers of Lakshmi Grinders.

P.B.Krishnamurthy was one of the Founders of Codissia and now his son K.Ravi is in the Executive Committee of the organisation. Ravi also shares some interesting fact about his father other than his wet grinder story "My father was a fun loving person and he used to practise yoga everyday. He used to play billiards for years at the R.S.Puram Club. My father loved good filter coffee and he used to visit Sree Annapoorna for relishing his favourite beverage several times a day and also a chat with K.Damodaraswamy Naidu on a number of subjects. Perhaps he was the second person to have coffee at Sree Annapoorna after Udayam Pandu Chettiar everyday.

He was on excellent terms with Meenu Mix Balakrishna Pillai and his entire family. Whenever Meenu Mix inaugurated a new showroom, the first bill was written by him and the first sale was to Chinnaswamy of Pazhamudir Nilayam, be it their Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai or Kochi showrooms".

"Business boomed for about 3 decades. As we had not taken steps to protect our innovations, the market started to brim with duplicates. But at no point we compromised on the quality. Faith and the future are our all time pillars", said Ravi.

Presently there are 700 plus wet grinder manufacturers in and around Coimbatore, and today grinders are also part of the social welfare schemes offered by the Government of Tamilnadu.

But undeniably, it was P.B.Krishnamurthy (1932 - 2006) Founder of Sri Lakshmi Grinders because of whom Coimbatore was identified as a Grinder City.

Methodology : Forbes India, with knowledge support from PwC India, adopted a robust multiple-stage process to select India’s Super 50 Companies. In the first stage, a set of eliminators was employed to arrive at a critical mass of strong contenders. Out of all the listed companies on the stock exchanges, we selected those with a market capitalisation of more than ₹10,000 crore (as of March 31, 2018). From these, all PSUs were eliminated; only the top two companies based on market capitalisation from any business group were included; companies where trading was suspended for penal reasons were removed and so were those that were listed after April 1, 2015. This yielded a list of 135 companies which were further evaluated on a different set of parameters. These parameters included shareholder returns exhibited on the stock exchange over a three-year period, sales growth (three-year CAGR) and return on equity (three-year average). As a final check, we considered those companies which were more consistent than others—in the context of our parameters—and we also used relevant eliminators to remove the outliers. The result is a strong list of companies that comprise Forbes India’s Super 50 listing. The list is in alphabetical order and is not a ranking.
