Congress candidate Manyam Muniratna Naidu today won Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly seat for the 2nd time by beating BJP candidate with a margin of 41,162 votes.
The recent Congress-JDS alliance against BJP in Karnataka did not prevent a triangular contest in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, where JDS came a distant third.
Earlier, the constituency was scheduled to go to polls on May 12 with 222 other constituencies of Karnataka but was postponed in light of the alleged fake voter ID scam. Hence, the elections in the constituency were conducted on May 28.
